Jenna Manheimer

Jenna Manheimer is an on-scene coordinator with the Environmental Protection Agency in the Pacific Northwest, USA, responding to environmental emergencies, including chemical and oil spills, and removing hazardous waste from contaminated sites. For the last decade, she worked with the EPA in drinking water throughout the Northwest, South and Southwest, most recently managing the regional tribal drinking water program that ensures Tribes in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska maintain safe drinking water. She is a national expert on conducting inspections and enforcing the Safe Drinking Water Act.

Jenna has served in various technical roles on public health and the environment, including on a bi-national presidential advisory board focused on environmental and health impacts along the US-Mexico border, compiling policy recommendations on climate change mitigation & resiliency from multiple stakeholders.

Jenna holds a Masters in Public Health with focus in environmental health from Columbia University
and undergraduate studies in biology and Spanish from the City University of New York. Jenna has
served indigenous & migrant communities around the globe, including in tuberculosis control with the
NYC Department of Health, water & sanitation in India with UNICEF, women’s health in Nicaragua
and human rights in Mexico. She also worked at the Earth Institute’s Center for Environmental
Sustainability on water resources, climate change, sustainable investment and environmental education.

Jenna is a yogini, dancer, sailor, global citizen, and lover of the outdoors and languages.
